FAREWELL MINNESOTA

A few months ago we moved from Minnesota into Wisconsin for the winter in preparation for the new journey of full-time RVing, but we still called Minnesota home, as it had been for most of the last 12 years. This morning we pulled out of the campground with our RV home hitched to our truck and offered a fond goodbye. Midwest life brought many things into our lives like learning how to learn deal with 9 months of winter, POT HOLES, big enough to bury a small car (not really), beautiful fall colors, inspiring night skies and many different types of wildlife and brightly colored migratory birds. We made many new friends and acquaintances, attended some great concerts and sporting events, volunteered at the Super Bowl and experienced the Great Minnesota Get Together (Minnesota State Fair to non-Minnesotans) and attended a live recording of “A Prairie Home Companion” when Garrison Keillor was still hosting.Dave walked across the head of the Mississippi River, we fell in love with summertime and Lake Superior. I started a new hobby of rock collecting and during the long, cold winters I learned to knit.So today we move on to make new friends, see new horizons and learn new things. We will find some new volunteer opportunities along the way and spend more time with our family in other parts of the country. To our friends in Minnesota, Wisconsin and other areas we have lived – you will remain fondly in our memories and in our hearts. Thank you for sharing all of this and more with us.
